Interesting products at Security Essen 2024

The leading trade fair for safety and fire protection presents its trade visitors with numerous innovations. until 20th September, there is ample opportunity to discover current developments and products for companies, authorities and private households. Here are some examples:

Security remains one of the most important aspects in the physical and electronic protection of persons and objects. Networking and artificial intelligence play an increasingly important role in access control, perimeter protection, fire protection and video surveillance.

Access control:

·         The IDEMIA Face Recognition Terminal (hall 6, stand 6F43) combines a 2D, 3D and IR sensor under one surface. The terminal works efficiently even in complete darkness, in strong sunlight or in reflective sunlight. It does not require an additional light source and can also be used outdoors due to its classification according to IP65 and IK07.

·         TBS (Hall 6, Stand 6C37) offers a non-contact face recognition system based on the latest 3D algorithm for face recognition and verification via the walk-through function. The solution is able to identify registered users from a distance of up to two meters and also offers an innovative walk-through method that allows you to verify the identity of a person, by simply passing a camera.

·         Optex Security (hall 7, stand 7F23) relies on sensor technology that uses LiDAR (light detection and ranging) to secure large areas. The system creates a high-resolution virtual laser wall or plane with a length of up to 100 meters, ideal for protecting perimeters, buildings, roofs and installations. Thanks to the integrated analysis, the LiDAR detects the size, speed and distance of objects moving or in the corresponding area even with changing weather and light conditions.

·         Controlling and monitoring various trades under one surface is possible with the solution of PCS (hall 6, stand 6B25). The modern, web-based application for professional company-wide building security not only supports users in access management, but also offers the possibility to supervise time recording and visitor management.

·         The access control platform from Salto (hall 6, stand 6B27) offers users maximum freedom of choice regarding system architecture, type and number of access points as well as security level. The access management system allows the management of offline, wireless, IP-online and mobile access points in one platform. It allows the management of users, doors by time zones and calendars, the logging of data from door components, automatic status adjustment of doors and anti-passback.

·         Armatura (hall 6, stand 6C20) turns the smartphone into a mobile key with its solution. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and the Armor ID app can be used to operate different modes. In map mode, you simply present the smartphone to the reader to gain access. In remote mode, doors can be controlled remotely from the phone with the app. And with the QR code mode, users can generate and scan QR codes for temporary access, perfect for visits or deliveries.

Perimeter protection:

·         The high-speed doors from EFAFLEX (hall 6, stand 6A13) feature spiral gate technology, which enables even gates with a width of 10,000 millimetres to achieve a gate blade speed of 1 m/s. The company develops and produces individual doors for a wide range of industries. The industrial doors are available in spiral doors, roller doors, folding doors, clean room doors, freezer doors, machine protection doors and many other special designs for many industries and trade.

·         HTC (Hall 6, Stand 6A39) offers a mobile speedgate that protects a vehicle entrance or a passage of four or eight meters from unauthorized access and regulates traffic. The gate is equipped with all necessary sensors to be able to close safely and quickly after each vehicle passage and complies with the standard (EN13241).

 

·         Forteza (hall 7, stand 7A26) offers a modern system for perimeter protection. The basis for the function of the protection system is the generation of electrical signals of a sensitive element embedded in the ground, caused by its deformation due to mechanical impact on the ground, such as an attack. The processor triggers an alarm if the number of received electrical discharges exceeds the norm. The system is suitable for use between two fence walls.

Civil security:

·         Dedrone (hall 6, stand 6F29) is adapting its drone defense solutions to the current threat situation. Dedrone’s airspace security-as-a-service technology can be flexibly hosted in the cloud or on-premises, combining machine learning software with market-leading sensors and defenses. Users can detect, identify, locate and, if authorised, defend themselves against drones.

·         The (part-)autonomous robot systems from Security Robotics (hall 5, stand 5C29.17) include AI-supported robots, drones, cameras and sensors, which are the ideal platforms and equipment at the time, to meet individual safety concepts and customer requirements. Whether security monitoring, inspection tasks or industry-specific applications - the systems can be equipped and customized according to requirements.

Video surveillance and camera systems:

·         RayThink (Hall 5, Stand 5B27) develops state-of-the-art infrared thermal imaging products and solutions. Main products include thermal cameras, panoramic radar, explosion-proof cameras and thermographic cameras for temperature measurement. These can be used in a wide range of industries, including smart manufacturing, night-time outdoor observation, AI, machine vision, intelligent driving, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), IoT, safety and fire protection.

·         The LiDAR solution from Blickfeld (hall 6, stand 6F23) features real-time object recognition through device-internal processing of 3D point cloud data. The industry standard interfaces allow seamless integration into existing security systems. The LiDAR system is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications thanks to its solid-state design and IP67 certified housing. Since data protection is paramount, it collects only anonymised 3D data.

·         Dallmeier (hall 5, booth 5B19 and hall 8, booth 8A15) will show its numerous camera models for various application scenarios: whether for wide areas, broad areas, large distances or demanding smaller detection areas. The cameras combine several lenses and sensors with different focal lengths in one optical unit. With their modern sensor technology, they also capture rear and middle image areas with the same high resolution as scenes in the foreground.

Protection and equipment:

·         The cut-, puncture- and shot-resistant leisure vest from EIBENHOLZ (hall 5, stand 5C29.9) is made of water-repellent polyester upper material. The inner lining provides comprehensive protection, including a protective collar for the neck area. The vest has two external pockets with zip and an adjustable hem with rubber cords. It is also modular in design and has three integrated interior pockets, which can be used with specially developed, certified SK1 bullet-resistant inserts.

·         STOOF (Hall 5, Stand 5C46) will show its portfolio of special protection vehicles for every application. The overall offer is divided into three main groups: armored SUVs, armored money and valuables transporters and armored limousines. In addition, STOOF produces other system solutions such as troop transporters, light military vehicles, police vehicles and security containers. Depending on the requirements, vehicles can be equipped with ballistic-tested tyres, emergency running system, security cameras, special armored glass or transponder-controlled doors.

Fire protection:

·         Kentix’s early fire detection solution (hall 8, stand 8C21) combines several sensors in one system. The early fire detection with multisensor technology detects up to 20 hazards and continuously monitors the four factors surface temperature, carbon monoxide (CO), air quality (VOC) and room temperature. The combination of thermal image and fire gas detection (CO, VOC) offers significant advantages for very early fire detection and thus fire prevention. System and equipment failures can thus usually be avoided very early.

·         Master Lock safety boxes (hall 8, booth 8C26) protect papers and valuables from fire and water. The fire protection is UL/ETL tested and lasts for 30 minutes. The safe can withstand up to 843 degrees, thanks to an exclusive insulation technique: special cement enriched with additives allows the storage of around one million water molecules. The molecules boil when a fire is lit outside the safe, creating a vapour barrier; the temperature inside remains below 121 degrees. Since papers only catch fire between 175 and 360 degrees and plastics only melt between 200 and 300 degrees, documents and storage media are safe. Furthermore, the safety cassettes have an ETL-verified underwater suitability that lasts up to 72 hours.

·         AP Sensing (Hall 7, Booth 7F29) will be exhibiting a new series of fiber-optic linear heat sensors that offer certified range up to 16 kilometers and four channels for all ranges. The detector is intuitive to use with a fully integrated web server, which allows easy configuration via the browser, a one-click validation of the configuration settings, 2,000 configurable alarm zones per channel and up to 98 integrated relay contacts. In addition, the system provides a cost-effective solution that is easy to install, low maintenance and resistant to electromagnetic interference (EMI), and allows for precise localization and monitoring of fire events.

Other

·         Pineapple (hall 5, stand 5C29.19) offers special furniture for prisons that combines both security and aesthetics. The furniture, such as seating, has a rounded edge design and no gaps or gaps to minimize hiding. They have a waterproof outer layer for a hygienic surface that is easy to clean and are certified flame retardant according to DIN 66084-P-a.

·         Energy Robotics (Hall 5, Booth 5C29.13) provides autonomous end-to-end inspections for industries such as oil and gas, energy, safety and chemicals using drones and robotic systems. Energy Robotics' hardware-agnostic software platform enables plant owners to effectively manage a fleet of robots and drones for autonomous inspections. The software allows robots to collect high-quality data, which is then converted into actionable information through advanced AI data processing.

 

·         OBERTHUR CASH PROTECTION (Hall 8, Stand 8A17) offers intelligent geo-localization for its valuables. The Internet of Things (IoT) based module allows tracking of valuable assets by using IoT technology that uses GPS/GNSS and mobile triangulation to pinpoint the location of the asset. The module uses the best wireless technologies and state-of-the-art security systems to remotely monitor and control the asset.
