The BG Verkehr is the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for Commercial Transport, Postal Logistics and Telecommunication. It insures more than 200,000 companies and about 1.7 million people throughout Germany. It provides advice on all matters relating to occupational safety and health. The BG Verkehr is responsible for the rehabilitation and compensation of insured persons following accidents at work and occupational diseases.

Safety first

The prevention of accidents at work and occupational diseases is one of the central tasks of the social accident insurance. The BG Verkehr's labour inspectors provide practical and industry-specific advice on occupational safety and health. Together with the companies, they ensure healthy and safe workplaces. An extensive range of basic and advanced training courses provides the necessary expertise.

Protected right from the start

In addition to employees, the BG Verkehr also insures civil servants, the self-employed and entrepreneurs. In the event of an accident, the BG Verkehr coordinates medical treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration into the workplace and social environment and covers all costs. Rehabilitation counsellors provide individual support, especially in the case of serious accidents. The BG Verkehr also provides financial support to ensure the livelihood of the insured person. The aim is to restore health by all appropriate means. Solely the employer in the form of an annual contribution finances the insurance cover. In return, the BG Verkehr assumes liability for insured events.
